Matthew 5:3 Blessed are the poor in spirit: for theirs is the kingdom of heaven.
Poor: less than adequate, needy.
I want to make myself poor. Poor in spirit, that is. And only so that I can see my inadequacies to improve upon them. I think God wants us to come to grips with our spiritual deficiencies, to be humble enough to admit them, so that we can attain to higher ground.
I want to ask God to help me with my inadequacies of spirit so that I can be blessed and inherit the kingdom of heaven.
