Isaiah 43:19
Behold, I will do a new thing; now it shall spring forth;
Don’t you love to read a good book where each chapter unfolds something new? Something exciting, something thoughtful or even something tragic? Life is like a book. You are writing your story each day whether you want to or not. I find new chapters constantly unfolding, day after day in my life. Some chapters are long and a little tiresome, while others are so short and fascinating that I wish they could last longer. Some chapters end a little sad and sentimental that us romantics at heart, almost want to reread it and linger in the moments. Some chapters have such unexpected happenings that it leaves our brains in a tizzy of “how in the world did that happen?” However our book ends up, we should always be looking forward to that new thing that the Lord has for us with hopeful anticipation!
One thing I have learned as of lately, is to be flexible and enjoy the ride. Life is too short to worry about what might happen next. Lately my chapters seem to moving rather rapidly with lots of new things happening, while some of my longer ones are ending. It has made me stop and contemplate my book. I’ve lost loved ones, gained new ones, graduated my youngest and myself (homeschool mom), changed living spaces several times and the list goes on.
I love the thrill of not knowing what’s in the next chapter! Whether the next chapter turns out happy or sad, I want to write a book that is worth reading. That people in the present, past and future will enjoy reading. That people won’t want to put my book down, but will cry with me in my sorrows, rejoice with me in my victories and find hope for their new chapters in life.
What’s in your book? What new chapters are you writing? Strive to make your book a book worth the reading.

Love this post kendy, the book analogy is so true, and I never consider a book good unless it has some difficulty to get thru, some tragedy to overcome, and some victory to gain. So why shouldn’t I expect my life to be the same. Thanks for the thoughts. Kathy
