Isaiah 35:1-2 KJV
The wilderness and the solitary place shall be glad for them; and the desert shall rejoice, and blossom as the rose. [2] It shall blossom abundantly, and rejoice even with joy and singing…they shall see the glory of the LORD, and the excellency of our God.

I love the spring!!! But is it spring? Here in Florida, it is spring, but really summer temps already! We’ve had several days in the 90’s already!!
I’ve had this Desert Rose for a while. My hubby bought it for me a couple Valentines Days ago. It was in a small pot and after a year I planted it in this larger planter. Each year it has bloomed and given me joy. However, this last fall, when in its dormant stage, I decided to prune it back as it was looking leggy to me. I researched how to prune it correctly and patiently waited til spring. They say that when you prune these plants, they can easily become infected because their stems are rather thick. However, if you do it correctly, and treat the pruned area, they flourish and shoot forth more branches which makes it fuller and in turn produces more buds. I must have done it correct, as it is flourishing! It brings me much happiness to look at! The Glory of the Lord and the excellency of our God is beaming through its buds!
You can always count on God to prune you correctly. We will have a dormant season in life, that seems as if He is not there. We only feel pruned. It is up to us to keep infection out. Pray, read the Word, keep yourself pure. Don’t let bitterness infect you while you lay dormant. Just take courage, my friend. Spring will come! Praise the Lord! We will soon bloom in abundance and have joy and singing in our hearts! It will seem as though we have bloomed in the desert, in our wilderness of life. We will then be able to withstand the extreme heat of life, as our blooms show the excellency of our God!!
