My Grandaughter Ava is 2. She is learning to count. Her big sister, Aria, has already got the counting to 100 down. Of course, Ava is imitating her sister, wanting so badly to say all those numbers, just like sissy. So when you ask Ava to count to 100… here it is…
This was the cutest thing ever! Made me laugh out loud, maybe because I’m the Grammy!
I like how Ava is so sure of herself and believes she is doing exactly that…counting to 100. It made me think. Am I ever so sure of myself, but doing the wrong thing? I think we’ve all been there.
Then when her dad asks her to count to 50, she thinks, and very cautiously starts doing the right thing. Being that she is only 2 she doesn’t finish the job entirely, but she does start doing the right thing!
Sometimes we can get so focused on what we believe is right. We just act on our impulses, without taking thought or consideration of the gravity of our actions, or how it is affecting us. Many people feel their religion is so right, and they are following a man or pastor whom feels the same way. But have they truly considered it could be wrong? Have they studied the Word for themselves, for the right answers? God tells in Matthew 7:15 to beware of false prophets. False prophets can think they are right and can lead others astray. We can become lost, caught up with what everyone else is doing or believing simply because we have not thought out our actions, have not studied the Bible to know what is truly right.
It behooves us to make sure we are counting right. Even if you cautiously start, begin to count the right way. We must be sure of our calling. Sure of our answers. Sure of our path to heaven.
Wherefore the rather, brethren, give diligence to make your calling and election sure: for if ye do these things, ye shall never fall. 2 Peter 1:10
