Who doesn’t want wealth and riches? Who doesn’t want to be blessed by God? It’s easy to pray for God’s blessing on our life. It’s natural to feel that if we’re doing things right, then we deserve to be blessed. However, are we doing our part to even deserve God’s blessings? As I read these scriptures the other day, I was stopped short by the commands we are to obey if we want this promise of wealth and riches.
The scriptures read:
Psalm 112:1-7 KJV
[1] Praise ye the Lord. Blessed is the man that feareth the Lord, that delighteth greatly in his commandments. [2] His seed shall be mighty upon earth: the generation of the upright shall be blessed. [3] Wealth and riches shall be in his house: and his righteousness endureth for ever. [4] Unto the upright there ariseth light in the darkness: he is gracious, and full of compassion, and righteous. [5] A good man sheweth favour, and lendeth: he will guide his affairs with discretion. [6] Surely he shall not be moved for ever: the righteous shall be in everlasting remembrance. [7] He shall not be afraid of evil tidings: his heart is fixed, trusting in the Lord.
So what are our duties to obtain this promise? Here’s what I get out of it.
1. Fear God
2. Delight in his commands
3. Be gracious
4. Be compassionate
5. Be righteous
6. Show favor
7. Lend to others
8. Make decisions with careful thought.
9. Don’t despair of bad news
10. Have a heart determined to trust God!
Wow! Thats’s a lot of work right there! 10 things. These 10 commands are things we can practice Every. Single. Day.
Start tomorrow. Read these each day and incorporate them in your daily life. Wealth and riches are promised to be in your house, if you do your part and put these things to practice. Soon you will find the secret to wealth and riches. Perhaps your pockets will be overflowing. That’s what I’m waiting for!!!
