O taste and see that the Lord is good: blessed is the man that trusteth in him. Psalms 34:18
Recently I was blessed with a visit from my grand baby, Aria and my beautiful daughter Andria. Ari just turned 7 months and she is totally into tasting everything. I mean everything. I laughed at her often as anything that was put into her hands went to her mouth, even her own toes! Haha! This is how she is exploring her world, through her tastebuds. She didn’t even seem daunted by the different flavors of paper,
French fries,

bubbles,
dried peas,
plastic,
carrots mashed with broccoli, toes,
and yogurt.
All were equally desired and eaten with enthusiasm! It brought back memories of her mom being the same way. I could never let Andria see the bottom of the bowl I was feeding her from, or she’d throw a fit because she knew she was having that last bite! Ari seems just as enchanted with eating as Andria was and dare I say it, still is! (Hope she don’t kill me for saying so! Lol!)
I got to thinking of this spiritually. Especially when Ari was vigorously eating the map at the museum….do we eat the Word and taste the good things of God with the enthusiasm of a 7 month old? She wants it all….the good and what we would call the bad….everything.
Eat all of the Word. Don’t just take the pieces you like. Do the hard things in the Word. Tackle it with enthusiasm! In fact, while Ari was eating those mashed carrots and broccoli, she would actually make a cooing sound as it was sliding down her throat. Do you coo at Gods Word? Or do you swallow it down hard with a distorted face of ” I don’t like this”?
In Psalms it says to taste and see that the Lord is good! Do you take time to savor the taste of what He has for you? Or do you cram it down so fast you can hardly distinguish the different flavors? Sometimes the taste may be bitter, but God only has wholesome food to eat. We must eat with a smile and ingest that goodness and nourishment for our souls.
Make time for God. Taste and see His goodness. He wants to fill your belly with good things! His flavors are the best!
God tastes good. All. The. Time!
